Quality Control Flowchart

Every product passes through five rigorous checkpoints before reaching your hands.

STEP 1

Raw Material Arrival

Supplier delivery & documentation review

STEP 2

IQC Inspection

Incoming material testing & approval

STEP 3

In-Process QC

First article + continuous line inspection

STEP 4

Aging Test

24-48 hr burn-in at room/high temp

STEP 5

FQC & Shipment

Final inspection, packaging & dispatch

Raw material incoming quality inspection at Upward Lighting factory
Step 01 -- IQC

Raw Material Inspection

Every batch of raw materials -- including LED chips, drivers, housings, and optical components -- undergoes rigorous Incoming Quality Control before entering the production line. This prevents defective materials from ever reaching assembly.

LED Chip Verification

Luminous flux, CCT, and forward voltage tested per batch.

Driver & Power Testing

Input/output voltage, PF, and efficiency validated.

Housing Dimensional Check

Tolerances, surface finish, and material compliance verified.

Supplier Documentation

Certificates, test reports, and RoHS compliance reviewed.

Step 02 -- IPQC

In-Process Quality Control

Quality control staff with 3+ years of experience supervise each production line. First Article Inspection (FAI) is performed before full production begins, and continuous in-process checks catch deviations before they become systemic problems.

FAI

First Article Inspection

The first unit from each production run is fully verified against spec before batch assembly proceeds.

Continuous Line Monitoring

Dedicated QC inspectors monitor soldering quality, assembly accuracy, and wiring integrity at defined intervals.

Immediate Deviation Correction

Any out-of-spec units trigger immediate line halt, root cause analysis, and corrective action before production resumes.

Production Records & Traceability

Each batch is documented with date, operator, materials lot, and inspection results for full traceability.

Step 03 -- FQC

Finished Product Inspection

Before any product leaves our facility, it passes through a comprehensive finished product inspection combining statistical sampling and full-batch checks to guarantee batch-to-batch consistency.

Optical Performance

Luminous flux, color temperature (CCT), color rendering index (CRI), and beam angle measured against approved specifications.

Lumen output verification
CCT tolerance ±100K
CRI ≥ 80 / ≥ 90 confirmed

Electrical Safety

Withstand voltage, insulation resistance, leakage current, and power factor testing ensure every unit meets international safety standards.

Hi-pot / dielectric test
Insulation resistance ≥ 50MΩ
Leakage current check

Appearance & Assembly

Visual inspection for surface defects, dimensional conformance, logo accuracy, and packaging integrity before final boxing.

Surface finish inspection
Logo & label accuracy
Packaging drop test

Statistical Sampling (AQL)

Acceptable Quality Level sampling plans are applied to each production batch, ensuring statistically valid pass/fail decisions.

AQL 1.5 / 2.5 applied
Batch traceability maintained
Inspection reports provided

Functional Lighting Test

Every product is powered on and verified for correct operation, flicker, dimming response, and stable light output before packing.

Power-on functional test
Flicker & strobe check
Dimming compatibility test

Packaging Integrity

Inner and outer carton checks ensure products arrive at their destination undamaged, with correct labeling and documentation.

Carton compression test
Barcode & label check
Document completeness
Step 04 -- Aging Test

Aging Test Chamber

Our independent aging test chamber runs every product through a minimum 24-hour room-temperature burn-in or 48-hour high-temperature (45°C) aging cycle. This stress-screens early failures and validates luminous flux maintenance rate and long-term lifespan reliability before shipment.

24h
Room Temperature
Standard aging at ambient conditions for all products
48h
High Temperature 45°C
Accelerated thermal stress test for reliability validation
Luminous flux maintenance rate measured post-aging
Early failure (infant mortality) screening eliminates weak units
100% of units aged -- no exceptions, no shortcuts
Temperature, current, and luminous output logged throughout
